Cumberland look forward to seeing Year 11 for their GCSE Results day on Thursday 24th August from 10am to 12pm.


A reminder that the new school year begins for:

Year 7: Thursday 7th September

Year 11:  Friday 8th September

Year 8,9,10: Monday 11th September


All pupils need to be on time and in FULL school uniform. Remember no mobile phones and ensure you are equipped to learn.

The Cumberland School is now formally consulting with our parents and other stakeholders on converting to an academy and joining the Community School’s Trust from 23rd June 2017 to 14th July 2017.  Please use the links below in order to download the letter from the Chair of Governors, Martin Warne and the Headteacher Gillian  Dineen. An information document is available so that you can find out more information about academies and the Community School’s Trust and a feedback form is included so that you can send us your views and any feedback.

Biggest increase in GCSE A to C English and maths results in Newham

61% achieving 5 A to C GCSEs

56% A to C English and Maths

44% achieve at least 1 GCSE A*/A grade

Help us raise money for a school project!


A Cumberland School project along with the other two successful projects are being voted on by customers Tesco stores each time they shop. Voting will take place from Saturday 1st July to Thursday 31st August and the school will notified at the end of September 2017 to confirm the amount of funding we will receive. The project with the highest number of votes will receive up to £4,000, the second placed project up to £2,000 and the third placed project £1,000.
