Important Information for all parents and students

Eid is due to fall on either Tuesday 4th or Wednesday 5th June 2019.

The school will be open for students in year 11 taking GCSE exams on both of these dates.

All Y11 who have exams on these dates must attend for their GCSE exams, both in the morning and/or afternoon. If they have only a morning exam they will be dismissed after this exam. If they do not have an exam they do not need to attend.

The school will be closed to all other students in years 7 to 10 on whichever day Eid is celebrated, either Tuesday OR Wednesday. The school will be open as normal outside of this one closure day. We will confirm by text and the website which day is the closure day for students in year 7 to 10 as soon as we are informed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Importance of Punctuality to The Cumberland School

Poor punctuality affects learning and behaviour not only of the student who is late but also has an impact on all other learners.  The Cumberland School takes poor punctuality seriously and from Monday 25th February any student who is late will receive a 60 minute same day detention.  All students are expected to be on site by 8:30am.

Healthy Eating/Drinking at The Cumberland School

A reminder to all parents that excessive items of unhealthy food and drink (fizzy/high sugar drinks) and chewing gum are banned at The Cumberland School.
