I am very pleased to inform pupils, parents and friends of the school, that Ofsted have made the following judgements:

• Overall effectiveness is GOOD
• Achievement is GOOD
• Teaching and Learning is GOOD
• Behaviour and Safety is OUTSTANDING
• Leadership and Management is OUTSTANDING

These judgements are excellent and evidence of the ongoing improvements at Cumberland School.

The current Ofsted framework is acknowledged to be one of the toughest inspection processes that schools have ever faced.

I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work, professionalism and the many hours they have put in to ensure the schools improvement and progress has been recognised.

I would also like to thank all our families, Governors, PFI partners and the London Borough of Newham who have provided support and encouragement since the last inspection in 2010.
