Cumberland Choir Performs at Royal Festival Hall as part of the Jubilation.
In celebration of 25 years of Choral Music Experience and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Cumberland pupils have been rehearsing for the concert in school and at Sarah Bonnell School in the build up to the concert on the 4th June 2012.
JUBILATION! - CME Institute and festival celebrated the 25th anniversary of CME, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on the weekend of 2-4 June 2012. The weekend included a residency for teachers and choirs at Sarah Bonnell School led by Dr Doreen Rao, Mandy Miller and other members of the CME faculty. JUBILATION! took place at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, at 5.30pm on Monday 4 June and included the Dunfermline Junior Chorusfrom Scotland, Aspiro choir from Ireland, Dame Alice Owen’s School Senior Chamber Choir from North London, the NewYPC, Solid Harmony and City Academy choirs from East London, as well as a massed community ‘audience’ choir and many wonderful artists and musicians, including Randolph Matthews and Steve Lodder.

As part of the countdown to the Olympic Games, Cumberland School were invited to submit it's own olympic song, which if selected would be sung by other schools in Newham on 12th July to mark the 15 days to go to the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
