    Sport Relief @Cumberland

Throughout PE lessons this week hundreds of Cumberland pupils have been running a mile to support Sport Relief. I will be joining this fantastic fund raising event, by running along the Mall, on Sunday with thousands of fun runners.

It has also been a busy week for our pupils who have been taking part in our rewrad trips to Outdoor in the City. Over 100 pupils have been rewarded for their positive approach to school by taking part in Zip Wire, Obstacle Course, Bushcraft, Climbing, BMX and something called Jacobs Ladder.

Congratulations to 7B, 8B, 9A and 10R who are currently top of our Vivo Rewards leader board.

This week we have missed our pupils taking part in the Rolls Royce Big Science Challenege. The reports I have received describe their week as "life changing".  Please see the Latest News section of the main web site for more details

As soon as the sun comes out Ms Doyle begins to prepare our pupils for their Duke of Edinburgh Award. As you can see from the photos, she has her work cut out.

    Cumberland 1st choice with parents

I received news this week that Cumberland has remained one of the most popular schools in Newham. Based on the recently released Year 6  Primary to Secondary transfer figures Cumberland is the favourite, mixed comprehensive, school in Newham. This is confirmation of the great progress made in recent years.

Congratulations this week goes to Trieu Minh Ho who has been selected for the South of England U16 Handball Squad.
