Sport Relief 2006
On Wednesday 12 July, the School will host a visit by the Rt. Hon. Alan Johnson MP, Secretary of State for Education and Skills.
He, along with other guests, will be joining pupils in order to raise money for Sport Relief charities.
Cumberland pupils will also be joined by two local primary schools, Hallsville and Tollgate and Cumberland’s partner school in Chiang Mai, Thailand will join in the fun by video conference.
Sophie Chipperfield of Year 11 is one of the top two finalists in the creative writing category of the London Student Awards. The winner will be announced at the Award Ceremony at the Department for Education and Skills on 13 July 2006. Minister for London Schools, Lord Andrew Adonis will be in attendance. The event is hosted and will be filmed by BBC London.
Another pupil, Miriam Francisco of Year 10, has been awarded ‘Borough Winner’ for the ICT category.
